Purdey’s leather goods are made from refined, tough, durable materials combined with traditional craftsmanship and know-how. They will gracefully acquire a unique patina, the visual sun of a traveler’s memories and life. However it will always be grateful for tender loving care.
The leather used to manufacture Purdey’s luggage is the apex of this category, tanned with Oak Bark, from the one and only tannery of its kind in the U.K. At the tannery they use the ancestral organic slow tanning process, which lasts around 9 to 10 months per skin. It is then slowly drum dyed, so that the pigmentation goes throughout the skin, not just the surface layer. This allows the product to age beautifully and acquire a distinctive patina.
