October has been very busy for the Agency team. We have hosted days up and down the country as well as in Spain. But it is not just us who have been busy….the beginning of the Pheasant season on October 1st signals the start of a very important period in rural community. You need only look at towns and villages such as Helmsley, Leyburn and South Molton to witness the impact the shooting community has on these rural economies. Hotels, pubs, bakeries, butchers, restaurants, country stores and other local businesses all rely upon, and thrive upon, this seasonal customer base. For example, one small family butchers told me they sell nearly £6,000 of bacon and sausages to local shoots and shops…every week. These are big numbers for a small family business and demonstrate just one of the many ways the sport of shooting benefits the rural community.
Looking closer to home and ahead to the rest of the season, the RBSA have opened two late-season Roving Days at two wonderful estates close to the Shooting School. The first day is at Tusmore Park on Wednesday 17th January 2020. Tusmore is a stunning Oxfordshire parkland shoot, which shows a mixture of partridge and pheasants, and the team will be hosted in one of the most elegant shoot lodges in the country. The second day is being held at the Well Barn Estate on Friday 17th January 2020. Set amongst some wonderful and dramatic terrain, the shoot provides some great sport and an equally dramatic and impressive lodge. What is so exciting for us, as an agency, is the fact that these two estates are so difficult to get to shoot at. Please do contact us on 01491 672918 if you wish to learn more or to make a booking.
