The Purdey Trigger Plate
CLASSIC ELEGANCE, MODERN STRENGTH
In recent years, the shooting world has seen an increase in the prominence of higher birds and heavier cartridges. Innovation has always been at the heart of Purdey and this over-and-under shotgun has been designed to meet the demands of today’s sporting world. As part of the gunmaking process, it was tested with more than 150,000 cartridges to prove that it can meet such challenges.
London Made
The Purdey Trigger Plate is, from start to finish, made entirely in Purdey’s London factory. Like all Purdey ‘Best’ guns, it passes through the traditional seven stages of gunmaking in the hands of Purdey’s world-famous craftsmen.
Handcrafted
This model seamlessly combines the traditional skills of the craftsmen with modern technology to create a beautiful, handmade ‘Best’ Quality London shotgun with classically elegant aesthetics and modern strength.
Trigger Plate Action
The elegant and robust trigger plate mechanism is perfect for the modern shooting world. Thanks to the ease with which the trigger unit can be removed, it is both extremely simple to clean and provides greater security when travelling.
Game or Clay Versions
Available in a traditional “Game” version, this classic gun is also available in a modern “Sporting Clays” model designed and dedicated to sporting clay shooting. The high performance “Sporting Clays” model was developed by our in-house team together with the assistance of Don Currie, professional shotgun coach, gun fitter and Chief Instructor of the US National Sporting Clays Association:
“The balance and ‘pointability’ is every bit as good as we hoped, giving a quick, responsive feel, which is so essential for a Sporting Clays shotgun”. Don Currie – NCSA Chief Instructor
SPORTING CLAYS
The Sporting Clays model incorporates a 9.3mm raised rib (tapered 11mm to 7mm), a higher comb and an ergonomically designed grip and palm swell. These features have all been designed with specific attention to the all-important balance and handling. The specially designed stock and the grip have been designed to assist the shooter’s mount and reduce the recoil as much as possible. The top rib is ventilated with a stylish “attacking” formation and the side ribs have an angled, double vented design.
