Our Shooting School in the beautiful Berkshire countryside is where Purdey really comes to life. Just an hour outside of London, it’s here that simulated game shooting was pioneered, with the aim of creating a sport that’s just as exciting as the real thing.
As well as private and group tuition, Purdey at the Royal Berkshire is renowned for providing first-class shooting experiences for businesses and charities looking to create memorable events for guests and supporters, maximising fundraising and promotional opportunities. There are myriad benefits of arranging your charity or corporate day with Purdey: the opportunity for connection, our centuries of experience, the accessibility of the sport and the all-inclusive service offered by Purdey.
British shooting has always been a great way for people to connect, with each other, with the countryside and with the great traditions of the sport. It’s something we have been facilitating since 1814, backed by an encyclopaedic knowledge of shooting. The beauty of a clay day is that it’s accessible for all abilities, so everyone can benefit and enjoy the shoot. And booking with us guarantees a turn-key experience; we take care of everything from the itinerary to equipment to catering, tailored to your event goals and requirements.
Included in our corporate and charity packages is 5* hospitality, providing a luxury experience throughout the day; tuition with our instructors, who have 130+ years of combined experience and are experts at getting the best out of all abilities; your product placement, incorporating sponsors and branding into the day to ensure it’s aligned with your work; and team support to engage with your guests and supporters before, during and after the event.
The price is as bespoke as the experience, depending on group numbers (we can accommodate up to 100 shooting guests, plus additional non-shooting guests), the duration of the day, catering and entertainment choices. Nothing is too much trouble and flexibility is key to what we offer, both in the planning and on the day itself; our expert team will help to build in all of the elements that are important to you.
We are one of the only shooting schools in the UK that offer this level of all-inclusive package, developed in partnership with our longstanding charity partners, informed by over 30 years' experience of organising charity fundraising shoots. To date, we have worked with charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Peter Jones Foundation, Help For Heroes, Prince’s Trust, Marie Cure Cancer Care, Lullaby Trust, Water Aid and many more, helping to raise over £35 million.
There’s plenty of opportunity throughout fundraise: from team entries, to headline or stand sponsorship, sweepstakes, ‘beat the pro’ competitions, displays from champion shots, live or silent auctions and games played over dinner. A bit of healthy competition makes these days all the more enjoyable; usually taking place over a range of stands from over 150 traps located throughout the grounds, concluding with a flush of clays flying overhead, with each team shooting together.
Following a recent charity day, the Senior Events Manager from the Peter Jones Foundation who Purdey has been working with for 15 years, shared his feedback: “The guests had an incredible day, and everything felt seamless! A few tweaks made a big improvement this year, including your team doing the guest check-in, the navy chairs which look much more elegant in the marquee, and your printed table plan which looked professional. Please extend our thanks to your whole team – including everyone out in the field and in the kitchen – everyone was so friendly and approachable.”
