Time for Tweed
For the team here at The Royal Berkshire Gun Room, this is an exciting time of year. It is now that the many days and weeks that we have spent seeking out new and exciting stock pays off and arrives in store. We especially love seeing the new range of tweeds arrive. One of our particular favourites this season are these shooting waistcoats from Purdey.
The Wentworth, Bembridge and Lawrence are all elegant and practical. Perfect for the milder early season days, they can be worn as a layer over shirts and sweaters. The Wentworth (above) features a storm collar and a half-belt with adjustable tab, to ensure a perfect fit. All three styles have a Teflon® coating which helps to make the rain “bead” and roll off. Another clever feature, that is the hidden in the shoulder pad and can be switched according to which shoulder you shoot from, is the D3O® absorption pad. It uses “advanced polymer chemistry” and absorbs the energy of each shot reducing felt recoil while remaining soft and flexible.
