NEWS FROM THE PEG...

Another busy month in the Sporting Agency has seen Gordon ,Dylan and I sent to all corners of the UK and Europe. In stark contrast to the beginning of the season, which was unseasonably dry, this month we have had to break out our new Purdey waterproof capes on a number of occasions! However the increased wind speeds have certainly made things very interesting. A particular drive in Wales was definitely one of the best I have witnessed so far this season; the wind reached gale force proportions as we approached the drive and the partridges just kept coming! They were ferociously fast, high, sliding and plentiful. Our friends from America who were shooting were truly amazed! One invited British gun, co incidentally a member of the Purdey gun sales team who shall remain nameless -  really struggled. Indeed he really struggled! Despite regaling the night prior of his success this season  he  must have had well over 80 shots for a brace – they were spectacular to give him  his dues/ an excuse! … All summed up by the Americans with…. "By George…. they were truly  epic “!! Other notable trips have been Gordon’s party enjoying a Wild Boar Hunting trip in France – a new addition to our offerings , a 2 day trip to Northumberland on one the countries finest shoots and Dylan had a memorable Father’s and Sons day with 6 young boys under RB instruction getting their first ever pheasants . A bag of  90 birds, much learnt and a new generation embracing our sport . We still have plenty of days in the diary to host before Christmas. As clients in the UK start to contemplate life beyond January, enquiries are now starting to come in for shooting in Spain and indeed Africa - another new addition to our portfolio. The season in Spain runs until the end of March and we also have a hosted trip to South Africa planned for 27th – 31st May 2019. There are 8 spaces available on the trip to Africa, this will be to shoot the notoriously tricky Rock Pigeon (One of the world’s most sporting birds!) – so get in touch to avoid post January blues or visit www.rbss.co.uk Can we  take this opportunity from us all within the Agency,  to wish all those that we have arranged shooting for this season , the estate owners, keepers, cooks, beaters, pickers up and all the helpers, a truly  great Christmas and happy New Year!
