As we near the Glorious Twelfth, we help you to find the perfect outfit to start the season looking your very best!

Gordon Robinson, who heads up our Sporting Agency, knows better than most what kit is invaluable in the field.

Here are Gordons top six picks from the Royal Berkshire Country Store...

Purdey Grouse Butt Marker £195

'An absolute essential and also makes a wonderful gift for your host!'

The marker disc has distance zones marked on one side, to log the grouse you've shot. Any birds marked on the disc are easily wiped off as they are retrieved. The reverse prompts notes to satisfy the most particular of grouse shots. The beautiful leather wallet is made from selected vegetable tanned hide. It contains a compass with brass surround to record wind direction etc., a solid brass fixing spike, a rain fast marker crayon and a spare. A leather thong connects the spike, the disc and the marker crayon.

Purdey Light Weight Tweed Waistcoat £395

'The perfect lighter technical tweed for the warmer August/ September months.'

The classic Purdey shooting vest has been updated in newly developed technical tweed. The fabric is one third lighter than traditionally woven tweed and results in a more comfortable garment. Through a combination of yarn twist and the introduction of a very small amount of nylon, it is highly resilient against high levels of abrasion and friction. The tweed has a Teflon® coating which causes water to bead and roll off. The design features spacious cartridge pockets, Alcantara trims and recoil pads for added comfort. A neoprene pad can be placed in a pocket on either shoulder depending on your shooting preference. A must-have addition to the modern shooter's wardrobe.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and enjoyable season ahead!
