The season is now well underway in the Agency, despite a challenging start to the grouse season due to adverse weather conditions. Gordon, Ben and Jonathan have been in Northumberland and Yorkshire for much of the season so far, hosting some exhilarating days in the purple office, under the new Covid-secure measures. The reports and feedback from clients so far has been very positive, which is a huge credit to the estates and their staff. It is truly a blessing to be able to enjoy the sport we love in these strange times. Now more than ever it is so important that we follow the guidelines and do not bring the industry into disrepute.
The Partridges have got off to a great start this September and with Pheasants just around the corner, many are starting to reflect on what has been an amazing year for rearing birds and procuring game covers. Many keepers are remarking that they cannot remember a better year in the last decade.

For the coming season we would very much encourage clients to research and test the new range of ‘eco’ shotgun cartridges, which are fitted with biodegradable wads. There are a range of options from multiple suppliers and the feedback has been extremely good, with many top game shooting individuals comparing the performance to that of the plastic wadded shells – which are now no longer welcome at game shoots due to the pollution they cause. This is again another hugely positive step for the industry and more good news.
