Description

500 Layer Damascus steel. Damascus steel is made when two types of steel are forged together and folded multiple times to form a desired pattern. It is then etched in an acid which eats away the surface of the steels with different properties at differing rates producing the pattern on the blade.  The two steels used in the production of the Damascus Red blades are RWL-34 and MC-27, both of which are high end stainless powder metals, and combined offer the most stable and resistant form of Damascus steel. It has very high corrosion and wear resistance with excellent sharpness.

To ensure the Damascus performs to the highest possible standard, it is hardened, tempered and cryogenically treated in liquid nitrogen, to 59.5 HRC (Rockwell scale of hardness). It is by far the best Damascus steel in the world.  Each knife comes complete with a handmade leather sheath, which is moulded to each knife for the most secure fit.26mm wide and 135mm (5.5inch) length blade. These blades are four times sharper than a surgical scalpel and are built using only the highest quality steel and the unique skills of hardening and tempering. Final hand-sharpening and leather stropping helps to produce an industry leading edge. Each knife comes with a leather sharpener, ID card and oil.

Please note the oil is only available for delivery within the UK. We regret that we cannot ship anywhere else due to shipping restrictions.
