Shooting Lessons

Whether you’d like a one-hour refresher before your next driven shoot, or a complete course of lessons, we can help

West London Shooting School

Helping Purdey shoot straight since the 1930s.

The gentleman sportsman is expected to be naturally gifted, equally adept whether with gun, rod or bat. His temptation, therefore, may be to forego any lessons, having only some basics in place.

But all the shooting greats, from Prince Duleep Singh to King George V, took lessons of one kind or another.

The West London Shooting School has been fitting guns and giving lessons at the grounds in Northolt for over 80 years. It’s England’s oldest independent shooting school, and offers training for beginner, intermediate and experienced shots.

Whether you’d like a one-hour refresher before your next driven shoot, or a complete course of lessons, they can help.

Purdey Young Shots

A Purdey gun is built to serve many generations. In the Purdey Young Shots course, the shots of tomorrow are introduced to all aspects of shooting – not just the ‘aim’ and ‘fire’.

Girls and boys aged 10 to 17 are welcome, and the one-day session runs seven times a year, always during school holidays or half-term.

It’s the perfect introduction for the novice, and improvement day for the youngster who already shoots. As well as exploring the difference between shotgun, rifle and air-rifle, there is great emphasis on the rules of shoot safety and etiquette.

How to get there

West London Shooting School is less than an hour’s drive from London, with South Ruislip being the nearest tube or train station. With prior arrangement, helicopter landing is also available on site.
