We go to great lengths in all that we do. Every item of Purdey fieldwear or shooting accessories is crafted with the same attention to detail as our very best rifles and guns.
You will find echoes and cues from our 200-year history in all of the things we create. Our cartridge bags feature the same intricate chequering you will see hand-chiselled on the forend of a ‘best’ Purdey gun.
Purdey goods are never hurried; we take time and care in everything. In the Cotswolds, our leather workers make each Purdey luggage tag by hand, ‘blind stamping’ the full grain Angus hide – and then burnishing the edges to perfection.
We still make our products the time-honoured way. Purdey tweeds come from small Scottish mills, and are hand-worked in the borders as they have been for generations. Leather is tanned in pits of steeped oak bark; a technique honed in the Midlands and unchanged for hundreds of years.
Our commitment to quality will embrace modern methods where they build on the past. An example is rubber button casing, used on our fieldwear to prevent scratches to your Purdey. Our jackets and breeks combine traditional tailoring with the latest breathable and water-repellent performance fabrics.
