Purdey self-opening actions
Our side by side guns are built on the famous self-opening system patented by Frederick Beesley in 1880. With the exception of our hammer guns this system has been in use ever since.
Purdey offers dedicated action sizes on all its guns. In square, round or ultra-round action shapes. This gives each gun perfect proportions and is extremely important to the overall look, balance and feel.
Available with double or non-selective single triggers and automatic safety catch.
Barrels
Chopper lump construction from 26” to 30”.
Superior Proof 2¾” chambers as standard. 3” magnum chambers on request.
Tapered concave, flat top and Churchill type game ribs as required with polished or matted finish.
Interchangeable choke tubes also available.
